About Us

The beginnings of Mousse Hill Farm started in 2022 in Coldwater, Michigan when we planted our first batch of lavender and began selling vegetables and flowers at our local farmer’s market. Since then, we have continued to expand each year. Our flower garden has grown, and we now host over 900 lavender plants (and counting)! Our farm is also home to a charming wildflower patch and the occasional morel mushroom that grows naturally in our 80 acres during the spring. Here, the beauty of nature meets the warmth of family. Our farm is a labor of love dedicated to cultivating the finest lavender and flowers this region has to offer.

"My family and I are inspired by the ability of flowers to create joy and bring people together."

I got started in the flower business because I wanted to create something new and beautiful with my family that would strengthen bonds through hard work and connect us to the earth. My family and I are inspired by the ability of flowers to create joy and bring people together.

As a little girl, I remember being entranced by the ethereal blue carpeting of “Quaker Ladies” covering my grandmother’s lawn, which we lovingly dubbed “Bluets.” Since those childhood days, my fascination with flowers has only deepened, becoming an integral part of my daily life. We have started to plant these bluets, slowly transforming our farm into a scene from my magical childhood recollections. Establishing this farm has not only allowed me to honor cherished memories from the past but also to cultivate new ones with my family, weaving together a tapestry of nostalgia and newfound joy.

"Mousse embodies the very essence of joy and love that defines the spirit of our farm."

Our name is something that our family holds close to our hearts, inspired by none other than our beloved chocolate labrador, Mousse. Because he adores going for walks in the woods, riding in our ATV, and helping out with the flowers, it made sense for us to name the property after him!  Mousse is a cherished member of our family, embodying the very essence of joy and love that defines the spirit of our farm. His presence uplifts us daily, reminding us of the simple pleasures and unwavering companionship that enrich our lives.
